Several times now, while going about life, my wife has been startled and exclaims, “what was that?” in response to this radio crashing into the bottom of the tub. Suction cup technology, if there is such a thing, must be pretty fundamental, but this product hasn’t mastered it. I find that a strange failing. Anyway the radio works better than other inexpensive shower radios I’ve had in the past. The selectivity is still touchy but you can separate signals if you take a little care and it hasn’t drifted off frequency. The speaker is tinny sounding as most small ones are, but clear even when set pretty loud. It seems quite sturdy, and it should be considering how miserable the suction cup is. All in all I like the controls, it’s toughness, the antenna, it’s ability to find signals and the clearness of the speaker. I just lay it down on something instead of using the suction cup.

I purchased this less than 2 weeks ago.
Before I get to my experience with the product, please note that this uses 2 AAA batteries. I was unable to find that on the product page.
Overall, the device was easy set up. Another reviewer commented on having problems with the battery door screw and how to put in the batteries. Although not the easiest thing ever, my model was not exceptionally difficult. You need a small screw driver (I used my the screwdriver I use on my PC) and a + and – is etched into the underside of the door.
The sound is a little uneven. I don’t know exactly why, but the sound is either inaudible in the shower or the highs are so high that they hurt my ears. I did not experience this with my previous shower radio. This was true for both music and talk.
The worst part is that the AM portion of the radio stopped working after 2 days. The FM portion still works, even though I don’t touch the channel, I need to adjust and find the right frequency every time I put it on and the dial is not sensitive enough to get a great signal every time.
I bought this after my Sony died ([...]). I loved that radio and had it for 4 or so years. A battery leak killed it, so I bought this. I figured I’d save $30, but that was a mistake.

This product probably wasn’t even worth the $20 I spent for it. The biggest issue is the suction cup, which only works on the most perfect surfaces, namely glass. The worst part is that you can’t even set it on a flat surface, such as a desk, without the need for the suction cup to hold it in place because it is so top heavy. If your surface isn’t perfectly smooth, the suction won’t stick, and the radio will just topple over.
The other issue is the battery compartment. There are two, tiny little screws that need to be removed to insert/change the batteries. My guess is that the average consumer does NOT have a screwdriver that small. I also laughed when the directions told me to make sure the batteries were in correctly (correct polarity), but the radio doesn’t have any markings as to which way the batteries go. I just had to do trial and error. Big deal? Not really, but it’s a common theme with this little radio: A good idea with some nice features, but someone didn’t spend enough time making this thing fully functional. I returned the radio after one day.
